Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde is a decent beer. It's refreshing and easy to drink. It has a pleasant strawberry flavor and it isn't a bad beer. That being said, it isn't anything special, there is no wow factor to this beer. It seems a little one-dimensional in that it tastes like a lager some strawberry flavor. I'll probably drink more of these, they'd be great in the middle of the summer... but once September rolls around, I'll be looking for something with more body and character.

I first had a bottle of Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde last winter when I randomly picked one up when I was putting together a mix and match six pack at the liquor store. Being winter, I was mostly drinking darker winter warmer type beers, so the Strawberry Blonde was a quite a change of pace. I wanted to drink the Strawberry Blonde while it was "in season" so I could properly enjoy it. I picked up a six pack of this a few weeks ago and I've finally gotten around of giving it a bit of attention... I remember enjoying this beer quite a bit in the winter and I think now that it had quite a bit to do with being different than the other beers I was drinking at the time.

The Strawberry Blondes I've been drinking now seem a lot more tame and almost boring compared to what I remember. This six batch of Strawberry Blonde is milder in fruit, and a bit more bitter. Perhaps I got a bad bottle or two, but the whole six pack has been this way and it doesn't really taste spoiled, just boring... Still, this isn't a bad beer, it's a pleasant summer beer. If you need something light with a little fruit tang, then this is will do you right. But if you want something a bit more complex or with a little more character than your everyday beer, then you'd be better off picking up something else... Sorry Pete! No hard feelings?
